Business Studies
Curriculum Intent
At Poole High School, Business Studies is a dynamic, engaging and relevant subject that helps students understand the fast-paced world of business and the economy. Students explore real-world issues and current events, examining how local, national and global developments can impact businesses, consumers and society. Through the study of business operations, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
The subject encourages students to identify and develop their own strengths while fostering key entrepreneurial qualities such as creativity, resilience, leadership and determination. By analysing real business scenarios and contemporary challenges, students gain valuable insight into how organisations adapt and succeed in an ever-changing environment. At Poole High School, we aim to equip students with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to become informed consumers, future employees and aspiring business leaders.
